* When using Outlook Add-ins on a Windows PC the signature is visible when writing the mail. And it works with all Email Server including (but not limited to) Exchange Online, Exchange On-prem. Lotus Domino, GSuite/Gmail (online).

** When using Office 365 the signature is added on the server after the mail is sent. E signature is not visible when writing the mail. This requires “Templafy Email Signature Server for Office 365”, which as the name suggest only works if the companies Email Server is Exchange Server Online (Office 365).

**What is a mail server and what is a mail client?
The below information is based on the client-server model - you can read more about the model here. This model structure will likely clarify any doubts in relation to mail server and mail client
Mail server: A system/server which sends and receives email via email different protocols (IMAP, SMTP, POP etc..) and is located on the server side. A mail server is ex. Microsoft Exchange Server - a more detailed list for mail server providers can be found here.
Mail client: Client refers to a personal computer/workstation (look at client-server model). A mail client is an application which assist with sending and receiving messages. An example of a mail client is Outlook, eM client, Gmail, Mailbird, Thunderbird

Templafy VSTO Add-ins for Outlook (VSTO = PC only) works with all email servers. Templafy Add-ins applies a signature in Outlook and it does not matter what email server the client is using:
