This article will explain the new technical prerequisites that is required for installing Templafy Desktop Client 2.5.

Please note the disclaimer, where we inform about a detected issue with Templafy Desktop Client 2.5 in regard to Proxy server. With customers using a Proxy server, we don't recommend being upgraded to Templafy Desktop Client 2.5.

 

Prerequisites

 
  • Partner or SuperAdmin access to tenant's Desktop Settings in Templafy One
  • Templafy Desktop Host 2.0 or above
  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or above
  • WebView2 Runtime

 

Important disclaimer

 
  • Please note: We have discovered a Proxy issue with Templafy Desktop Client 2.5. If Templafy Desktop Client 2.5 runs behind a proxy, a credentials prompt is triggered and the user will be required to provide the proxy credentials. If this is not provided then Templafy Desktop will not be able to connect.

 

What is Templafy Desktop Client 2.5?

Templafy Desktop Client 2.5 defines and introduces new prerequisites for Templafy Desktop. 

With this new version, Templafy Desktop exclusively uses the WebView2 browser component (Microsoft Edge Chromium). In addition, Office versions below 2016 are no longer supported and will not be detected.

To run Templafy Desktop Client 2.5, the following prerequisites need to be installed:

  • Templafy Desktop Host 2.0 or above
  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or above
  • WebView2 Runtime

When Templafy Desktop Client 2.5.xx is selected from a dropdown in the Templafy Desktop Settings page in the Administration interface the following warning is displayed:
