Templafy can distribute fonts to End-Users' machines by adding them to the add-in package, which is downloaded through the Templafy Desktop.
Fonts are not installed on the machine, but are made available every time the Templafy Desktop goes through its update cycle, e.g. when the User restarts the machine, at midnight or manually. Fonts cannot be installed by Templafy because this requires administrator rights, and the desktop app runs in user-mode.
At the time of writing, this leads to a slight delay before the fonts are available on the End-Users' machine. Templafy needs to start, and go through its update cycle, before the fonts are available.
Adding fonts to the Templafy add-in package requires SuperAdmin rights, which are reserved for Templafy and trusted partners.
Supported file types for fonts:
- True Type Font (.TTF)
- Open Type Font (.OTF)
Requirements:
- Templafy Desktop Client Version 1.5.0.361 or higher
- Windows
Step-by-step guide
1. Log in to the client's tenant and locate the add-in package that the fonts will be added to.
2. Download and unzip it.
3. In the unzipped folder, follow the path AddinPackageName/LocalAppData/Templafy
. Add a 'Fonts' folder in this location.
4. Copy the font files to the fonts folder - both .ttf
and/or .otf
are accepted file formats.
5. Zip everything back and give it a recognizable name, for example by adding _font
to the original name. Upload this to the client's tenant.
6. Activate the package by selecting it in the active package dropdown in Desktop
Settings
.
7. Click Save
at the top of the page. The next time Templafy Desktop updates for this tenant's users, it will download the font files.
8. Finally, test the new fonts in the user's environment.
Company fonts (for previews)
It is also possible to add company fonts for previews in Templafy.
Those are not distributed through the add-in package. They would need to be uploaded in the administration center.
You will find it under https://tenant.templafy.com/admin/company-data
