Enable email signature for Office 365 to new users by default

About this feature

To add a little background and context to this feature, when email signatures are enabled for Office 365 on a tenant we can now add a signature to the email regardless of which device it is sent from. This is in contrast to how the email solution in Outlook on PC works, where the signature is implemented automatically without user interaction. For mobile, the email signature requires manual actions from users before it's added.

However, with this feature it is possible to enable email signature for Office 365 to new users by default, without any manual actions from users.

This is the first of a series of small features to enable Email Signature for Office 365 feature to users without requiring each user to go through the onboarding flow. In other words, this feature activates email signatures without any need of actions from end-user.

This feature is kept in the Beta feature section on the Settings page in Admin interface on a tenant. Although this is released, we want to make sure it is used with care.

Pre-requisites

  • Email Signature for Office 365 is enabled in Settings page
  • This is only available if Email Signature Synchronization has already been enabled
  • Currently, it is only possible for implementation partners and Templafy to enable the feature from the Settings page.

It is important to note that some other prerequisites need to be in place for this to really work nicely.
We need all users in the system, and we need their user profiles data.

The best configuration has:
  • SCIM - so that all users are provisioned
  • User profiles connected and pre-filled with Active directory claims (so users do not need to edit them explicitly)

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to Administration of yourtenant.templafy.com
  2. Locate Settings
  3. Check that Email Signature for Office 365 and Email Signature Synchronization is enabled
  4. Enable checkbox under Beta Features

5. If there are already active users on the tenant prior to enabling this feature, please reach out to your Templafy Delivery & Support contact or alternatively send a request to support@templafy.com to activate this feature for those users.
