What is Validator?
Document content validation (Validator) is a feature that makes it possible for companies to ensure that slides in presentations are always up-to-date - even after a presentation has been downloaded by a user and saved locally on their PC.
This article explains how Validator works for VSTO add-in versions earlier than 5.7.5.1909. If you're running on add-in version 5.7.5.1909 or above, Validator has added functionality which is explained further in the article: Validator with dynamics 1.11.
How does it work for end-users?
An end-user opens an old presentation that they previously saved locally onto their PC. This presentation was originally created in Templafy, and contains slides that are enabled for validation.
In the time since saving the presentation, a newer version of this presentation has been made. Upon opening the presentation, the end-user will be notified that updates have been made, and given the opportunity to review and update it.
How to enable Validator for slides:
- Enable a presentation or slide as a template, using the Template Designer
- Click on the presentation file uploaded to Templafy's Slide or Presentation Library.
- Select 'Enable Validator' for the relevant slides.
- Click 'Save.'
The option to enable Validator requires that the presentation is uploaded after Validator is enabled.
