Support for .svg files

.svg files are supported in the image library and for insertion, and therefore listed as a supported format in this article here. This means it is possible to upload .svg files to the image library and use them for insertion into PowerPoint presentations.

.svg files are also supported in presentations, slides and slide elements, which means you can upload presentations to the library in the Admin Center containing .svg files.

When inserting .svg files from the image library or other libraries in a version of Office not supporting svg files, we will convert it to a PNG when inserting.

OBS: .svg files are NOT supported in company data for company logos

Pre-requisites

Please note, the support of .svg files for the image library requires VSTO add-in version 5.7.2.1745 - for older versions you will be shown an error message when trying to insert a .svg file.

Works for all office versions that support .svg files.  The known support per application is:

  • WebApp: .svg
  • VSTO AddIn in Office 365: .svg
  • VSTO AddIn in Office 2013 + Office 2010: PNG
  • Web AddIns:
Templafy One: .svg is converted to .png. There may be a visual difference once inserted.
    Templafy Hive: .svg
