About date formats in Templafy

Configuring dynamic dates

Dynamic date is configured through using the Template Designer. For more on the Template Designer, please refer to this article.

Pre-requisites

Before dynamic dates can be configured, there are some mandatory requirements that must be in place. Date insertion is dependant on two inputs:

1. Language.

2. Date format.

3. Form Configuration.

Language and Date format need to be specified in data sources, which are used by the Template Designer as a reference.

Date formats data source

Below is an example of the data source used for date formats. It can be downloaded as an Excel file below.

Language column: IANA code.

Type column: friendly name for the date format.

Format column: the date format specified using the .Net framework.

Form Configuration

To allow for date formatting Templafy needs to have a form field on the User Profile called, "DocumentLanguage". This form field when added should be a dropdown that references the Languages data source and it should be a "required" field.
